The expert in soil
Cacti and succulents thrive in fast-draining, breathable substrates—not soggy soil. SYBAStones Cacti & Succulent Mineral Mix is a soilless, mineral-based blend developed for plants that prefer dry feet, lean nutrients, and steady airflow. With a grain size of 2-5 mm and a built-in 180-day slow-release fertiliser, it’s everything desert plants need to grow strong roots and stay rot-free.
Perfect for indoor Euphorbia, Echeveria, Opuntia, Haworthia, and more, this long-lasting mix offers the drainage, aeration, and stability your plants need—without the organic matter that leads to compaction, fungus gnats, or root rot.
Typical cactus soil breaks down over time, leading to soggy conditions and pest issues. This mineral mix uses durable, porous ingredients that keep the substrate open and airy—so moisture drains quickly and roots stay happy.
With excellent capillary action and natural moisture control, this substrate keeps your cacti & succulents hydrated just enough—and no more
SYBAStones Cacti & Succulent Mineral Mix makes plant care easier, especially when paired with a pot with drainage holes. The mix naturally wicks moisture to roots while remaining breathable and lightweight—perfect for minimal watering routines.
What’s inside:
The balance of these ingredients mimics the gritty, low-organic environments desert plants love—giving them room to grow deep, resilient roots with minimal intervention.
This mix is fertilised for 180 days, meaning you won’t need to feed your plants for six months after planting. After that, maintain plant health using:
Sybotanica’s slow-release fertiliser range, developed specifically for low-nitrogen needs of cacti and succulents
Avoid overfeeding by skipping additional fertiliser during the first six months—this formula provides all the nutrients your plant needs.
This mix isn’t just a potting soil alternative—it’s a better system for sustainable, resilient plant growth. Whether you’re propagating leaves, repotting mature cacti, or refreshing your existing setup, SYBAStones Cacti & Succulent Mineral Mix delivers what traditional soils can’t: no mess, no gnats, and no soggy surprises.
Use it in shallow pots, handmade ceramic containers, or your favorite cacti pot. It holds shape, resists mould, and performs year after year.
SYBAStones Cacti & Succulent Mineral Mix was built from years of testing, tweaking, and tuning by indoor growers who wanted a cleaner, more effective way to grow dry-loving plants. It’s part of a new generation of soilless substrates—sustainable, pest-free, and made for today’s houseplant lovers.
If you’re tired of soggy soil, gnats, or short-lived mixes, this is your forever fix.

With soilless mixes there is no chance of soil-borne pests, such as fungus gnats, root lice or mould.
Since this mix is based on stones, there is no degrading soil or compaction risk. Making these stones endlessly reusable.
In combination with a selfwatering pot, this makes plant care and watering easier for you! Easily check the water level of the waterreservoir. And no more worries about over or underwatering your plants!
Both liquid mineral fertilisers & mineral slow release fertilisers can be used with our SYBAStones mix.
Our SYBAStones Cactus & Succulent already contain fertiliser for up to 6 months, so no extra fertiliser is needed until after 6 months of using the mix.
Yes, the SYBAStones Cacti & Succulent Mix itself is natural (not certified). However the slow release fertilisers are not. To ensure these fertilisers are of high quality and release nutrients slowly it is not possible to produce them naturally.
Our Cacti Slow Release Plant Food that is added to this mix lasts for ~6 months.
Both hydroponics fertilisers as slow release osmocote fertilisers can be used with our SYBAStones mix. Our other SYBAStones Cactus already contain fertiliser for up to 6 months, so no extra fertiliser is needed until after 6 months of using the mix.
Yes, growing in SYBAStones works a bit differently from using regular soil. Watering, fertilising, and transplanting all follow new rules.
It’s a great method, but not every plant is a fan. Always check if your plant is suited for semi-hydro. More info below.
Got a cutting grown in water? You can plant it directly into SYBAStones. For soil-grown plants, it's best to remove all old soil before transplanting, especially if you've had fungus gnat issues. Clean roots are key.
Our slow-release fertilisers (not organic) are made for SYBAStones and other semi-hydro setups.
Rinse the mix before use. Some dust can form during transport, which is totally normal and easy to wash off.
These mixes are allergen-free thanks to their stone-based composition.
Noticed a smell or slimy texture after transplanting? A few things could be going on:
If you're sure the roots were clean or you're using a water cutting, the issue might be from dead plant material. Flush the pot thoroughly to rinse it out.
If the problem continues, inspect the roots. Some plants don't adapt well to mineral substrates and might not make the switch.
We recommend to use a self-watering plant pot!
You can use a water reservoir pot with your SYBAStones to create a semi hydroponics set up.
Most plants that love moist soils will appreciate this, such as aroids, calatheas, marantha, ficus, dieffenbachia, anthuriums and alocasias.
However for cacti & succulents, and other plants preferring dry soils, this is not recommended as these plants do not appreciate having moist roots all the time. Use a regular pot with drainage holes.
